Two years ago I had some heart tests, which resulted in a worrisome outcome. Last month I had more tests done, which as my cardiologist put it were, “perfect results!” He had a smile from ear to ear, which matched mine!

What have you done? He asked. Well, I said, the biggest change has been that I’ve aligned myself with the Divine power within. I can tell you this because you understand such things.” To this he added, “I believe that being in a constant state of gratitude has enormous benefits.”

I was happy! But then low and behold, the following week I had a bad bout of sinus, resulting in a horrible middle ear infection and total hearing loss! As I only have hearing in one ear, when the hearing went in my “good” ear, you can imagine how much that scared me!

After three medical visits in a week and some super duper antibiotics I was told that it could take up to three weeks for my hearing to return. The “return” eased my fear somewhat, but not totally. The same thing happened only two years ago and with this second episode, I entertained the possibility of more reoccurrences, which could mean bring total hearing loss in years to come.

With my general health now in a better than average state, I had to ask myself what it was that I didn’t want to hear. I took stock and thoroughly investigated my dialogue and thought processes. It was clear that my response to things I did not want to hear was, “I don’t want to hear that.” If someone was going through a tough time I’d respond with, “I did not want to hear this was happening to you.” Many more times I would say it in thought. I would think it. Thinking and saying has the same effect. Both are creative allies.

The more closely I investigated my responses, the more I realised that my output in thought and actual dialogue was clear. The boomerang message I was sending out into the field of creation was, “I did not want to hear.” And I got exactly that!

Developmental Biologist Dr Bruce Lipton has stated that 95% of all illness is non genetic, but is attributed to our interaction to our environment. In other words, to how we respond to our experiences and surroundings.

As this experience reflects, sometimes we can be both grateful and positive and still create what we don’t want. Unknowingly. Unintentionally. Let me tell you, I changed my dialogue and thought process quick smart! “I want to hear it all, Lord! Even if I don’t like it, I’m most willing to hear it! Tell it to me all, I want to hear it all, loud and clear! I am now so grateful for hearing that I get a high when I hear the garbage truck doing its rounds in the early hours of morning!

It’s a brand new year, and I urge you to begin it with your very own self investigation. Take a good long and thorough look at your responses, both verbal and thought and make any necessary changes. Of course I shall continue to be compassionate and empathetic, but I shall refrain from adding, “I did not want to hear that!”

What are you saying? What are you thinking? Is it what you want, what you love? Look at what’s going on in your life and if you don’t like it, investigate further. Make the necessary changes. This is pretty powerful stuff, this co creating with Divinity. In case you’re wondering why our negative talk and thoughts come to be and are not overridden, it’s because we have free will. For Divinity to override our intentions would be to take away our power and privilege to create. It would be like not driving a motor vehicle for fear of having an accident. We need to be more aware of the powerful force within us and use it to benefit us, not derail us.

For our part, we need to be more responsible in how we use this most powerful and magnificent innate ability – our ability to create.

I encourage you to live your life this way, be that unique individual you were born to be. When you find yourself in a place that is more painful than peaceful, don’t give up. Accept it. Acknowledge that you don’t like it in your own way, and then begin your investigation into your dialogue, into your thoughts… Ask yourself if what you are sending out into the field of creation is what you want, what you love.

Hi Anna! Once again, thank you for some very wise, bang on advice! It’s like you’ve been peering through my kitchen window! I look back over the past 5 years and realize I’ve come a long way, but oh boy, a VERY long way to go. But I’m feeling more free, certainly more grateful, so that’s something to celebrate. The thought process can still be a little bit of a roller coaster ride. But I’m not giving up! Thanks again!

Of course Roberta…we still feel the pain and loss as we advance in our evolutionary process through each of Life’s many cyclic episodes. Numbers tell me though, that when we understand the reason behind the experience we gain in enlightenment and wisdom, and we see Life as less challenging and far more beautiful. Thank you for reading my posts Roberta, much appreciated!
