Karma is real and operative in our lives for what we classify as bad and good. But what’s going on when someone you know has lived an exemplary life, always there for those in need, always ready to lend a hand while they are going through what appears to be an insurmountable amount of “bad luck” themselves?

When we witness parents who have lost their children in violent ways and yet find the strength to help others. When we see people living in extreme poverty, sickness and ill health, loss of security, extreme disability and yet can smile and be happy and hold no bitterness for their lot.

Is this Karma from a past life as many believe – or could there be another explanation?

I believe, and numbers reflect this, that some of us have chosen a more difficult path to have the opportunity to grow to a higher level of consciousness during our present lifetime. When next you see someone going through “earthly hell,” consider that they may have agreed to the experience, not necessarily to cancel their “bad karma,” but in order to have the chance to “fast track” their consciousness level to graduation stage.

What do you think?

    Hi Anna,
I remember that in a rash moment I decided that I wanted to get it all over and done with in this lifetime, so I said “bring it on Lord!’.
    Not my wisest action.

Thank you for sharing this Kerry Anne. I recall a similar moment to yours, but my response lacked your courage! My words were, “Enough Lord! Leave me as I am, stunted!”
